It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Joan Hahn passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Hospice Wellington, Guelph, at the age of 76 years. Throughout her illness this amazing woman showed love, strength and concern for others, always putting her family first. Joan will be greatly missed by her devoted husband of 57 years, Bill Hahn; her son Daniel and his wife Jackie, and granddaughter Caroline; her daughter Julie Ferrier and her husband Bill, granddaughter Tanya (Trevor) Fisher, and precious great-granddaughter Mya, and granddaughter Jessica (Ian) Atfield. Survived by her sister Betty Ertel, brother Richard (Faye) Walter, and brother-in-law Ken Brubacher. She was predeceased by her parents Aloysius and Eleanor (Zinger) Walter, sisters Marlene Brubacher and Dorothy (Paul) Karger, and her brother-in-law Buster Ertel. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the wonderful care and support of GRRCC. A special thank you to Dr. Bahl and everyone in the chemo ward. Thanks for the exceptional care given by the Waterloo-Wellington LHIN in-home care staff and the compassion of everyone at Hospice Wellington. Cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral home visitation. A private family service was held. Arrangements entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira. In Joan's memory, donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or Hospice Wellington would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. You fought a courageous battle with great dignity, Mom, may you now rest in peace with your sisters Marlene and Dorothy.
